SF Bitcoin Devs Seminar: The Bitcoin Relay Network

Matt Corallo (https://twitter.com/TheBlueMatt), Bitcoin Developer and Blockstream (https://blockstream.com/) Co-Founder, will speak about the Bitcoin Relay Network. In his talk, Matt will discuss the problems associated with global routing and latency, and how the Bitcoin Relay Network (http://bitcoinrelaynetwork.org/) works around these issues to propagate blocks quickly.

The Bitcoin Relay Network is a system of high-speed relay nodes for miners and merchants/exchanges. This system a) acts as a fallback in the case that the public Bitcoin network encounters issues and b) decreases block propagation times between miners.
