Recently the crypto space was treated to some new public attention from the SEC when they released information on the subject of Securities and ICO Tokens. This news has far ranging impacts on the world of crypto, from projects getting funded to users on popular exchanges. Is regulation here, and is it good or bad?

This month we have put together a Phenomenal panel of lawyers who specialize in the field to answer all your pressing questions. Our panel will be moderated by the one and only Thomas Hunt, founder of the World Crypto Network.

Sarah Hody of Perkins Coie, Reuben Bramanathan of Coinbase, and Lindsay Lin of Stellar!

Sarah Hody is an attorney at Perkins Coie, where she counsels entrepreneurs, established tech businesses, financial services companies, and innovators in the blockchain token space. She focuses on providing actionable regulatory assessments that drive both product development and product marketing, along with the appropriate contracts, privacy policies, and licensing programs to correspond with the regulatory advice. Sarah’s background includes serving as in-house counsel at Coinbase where she managed the company’s money transmission licensing programs, negotiated and drafted agreements on global payment services integrations, and evaluated risks and advised business and compliance teams on commercial partnerships. Sarah also has experience with token crowdsales, asset-backed tokens, corporate governance, Bank Secrecy Act compliance, and financial services litigation.

Reuben Bramanathan is Product Counsel at Coinbase. He has been advising clients on the legal and regulatory aspects of bitcoin, blockchains and smart contracts since 2014. Reuben wrote and lectured the world's first postgraduate course on the Regulation of Digital Currency, and co-authored the industry-leading legal research paper The Blockchain Token Securities Law Framework.

Lindsay Lin is Counsel and Program Manager at Lightyear.io, a company powered by the Stellar Network. She has advised multiple organizations on legal issues surrounding token sales, token exchanges, and asset-backed tokens. She also focuses on product development for distributed ledger applications that facilitate compliance automation. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Lindsay has experience with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Enforcement Division and is actively involved in the Silicon Valley blockchain community.
