IMPORTANT: If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please cancel your RSVP at least 24 hours in advance. We keep the group small to ensure we can actually fit inside these locations and keep the crawl manageable!
Join us as we trek through San Francisco’s Mission District to hit three legendary spots. The best part? All three locations are within a few minutes' walk of each other, so we’ll spend more time eating and less time commuting!

⚠️ Pro-Tip: Pace Yourself!
We are hitting three distinct spots. Try not to overindulge at the first two places—you’ll want to save plenty of room for the unique menu and larger portions at our final stop!

The Lineup

  1. Deliciosos Tacos de Canasta
    • The Food: Authentic "Basket Tacos." These are steamed (sweated) in a basket, making them incredibly soft and flavorful.
    • The Vibe: This is a classic street-side stand, giving us a true Mexico City-style start to our day.
    • Address: 2779 Folsom St (Corner of 24th & Folsom), San Francisco
    • Payment: Cash or Venmo.

  2. La Vaca Birria
    • The Food: While famous for their crispy beef Birria and dipping consommé, their menu is gourmet and diverse.
    • Must-Try Options: Look out for their Short Ribeye tacos, Duck Carnitas, Wood Fire Steak, and Lengua. They also have Baja Fish tacos and Oyster Mushroom tacos for those wanting something different.
    • Address: 2962 24th St , San Francisco
    • Payment: Credit Cards, Apple Pay, and Cash.

  3. La Torta Gorda
    • The Food: A Mission institution most famous for its massive, award-winning Tortas, but they also have a full selection of traditional tacos.
    • The Special Highlight: We are here for the Tacos Árabes.
    • What are they? A Puebla specialty featuring marinated pork served on a thick, pita-like flour tortilla (pan árabe). It’s the delicious middle ground between a taco and a gyro!
    • Address: 2833 24th St , San Francisco
    • Payment: Credit Cards and Cash.

The Game Plan
• Meeting Point: We start at the Deliciosos Tacos de Canasta stand on Folsom.
• The Walk: Everything is just a few blocks apart.
• Pacing: We’ll spend about 30–40 minutes at each location.
