Living History in the Presidio: Anza 250/America 250
Details
Come to the Presidio as Los Californianos commemorate two significant milestones in American history: the 250th anniversary of the arrival of the 1775–76 Anza Expedition in Alta California and the pivotal events unfolding on the East Coast during the nation’s founding year, including the Declaration of Independence.
The program features a procession, flag ceremonies, historical reenactors in period dress. Musical performances by Los Arribeños de San Francisco and the Young American Patriots Fife & Drum Corps.
9:45 Meet in front of the Officers’ Club. I think most of the action will be taking place about a half block North of there, but we can figure that out once we get there.
12:00 Meet up again at the Officers’ Club to share sketches and chat.
Optional extra: They will be doing free tours of the Heritage Gallery afterwards. Lots of good stuff to sketch in there too.
