May Meetup featuring AWS

Details

After a brief hiatus, we're back with @AWSCloud (https://twitter.com/awscloud) hosting us on May 5th. Come join us!

6:00 - Doors open

7:00 - 7:45 "From rapid prototyping to shipping, done remotely" with Josh Liebowitz, Senior Software Engineer at Twitter

Prototyping mobile apps with remote colleagues is a challenge. In this talk, Josh will dive into the issues he faced, the architecture, technologies, and strategies he used to overcome them, and what he would do differently now.

Josh (@theliebowitz (https://twitter.com/theliebowitz)) is equal parts mobile engineer and backend engineer, working at Twitter building developer tools and frameworks in the Fabric group. Before Fabric, he was at Apple where he helped build out the backend for the iTunes University app and later, headed up development of the 2.0 revision of the iOS app. He aims to help people learn and build things.

7:45 - 8:30 "Build mobile apps faster with AWS and Fabric" with Steve Johnson, Senior Solution Architect at AWS

Mobile app development is complex and time-consuming. AWS Mobile Services and Twitter have partnered to simplify the process of building, testing, and monitoring mobile apps that make use of a range of AWS services and Fabric. In this session, we will show step-by-step how to build apps with the AWS Mobile Hub, specifically Amazon Cognito.
