Post-Demuxed Monthly Video Meetup
Details
It's the end of October. That means the pumpkins are out in full force: pumpkin bread, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin seeds, pumpkins carved with Demuxed logos (right?). Most importantly, though, it means there's at least a month or two before anyone needs to start stressing about Demuxed 2023.
Normally we don't do a meetup the same month as Demuxed because it's just a week after (or something), but this year we had a whole 2 weeks, and, most importantly, an amazing speaker that raised their hand! We want to keep the momentum going from just a couple of weeks ago, so come say hi and grab a quic slice of pizza and a beverage (see what I did there?).
🎤 Speakers
Luke Curley (Twitch) - "Media over QUIC"
QUIC is here... now it's time to figure out how to use it to send media. Join us on an adventure to standardize a fix to all of the lingering problems with our favorite live video protocols, be they TCP-based or UDP-based. I'll explain why QUIC is a big deal, how we can use it for partially reliable delivery, and how we can actually improve the user experience in our fragmented ecosystem.
IRL Logistics
Our host building has security people downstairs, and they require us to have a list of names downstairs for check-in. Just to make sure we can have everyone printed out, please make sure to RSVP by ~5pm on Thursday.
Mux put together a page on details for getting in, COVID protocols, etc. Everyone needs to be fully vaccinated and there are specific check-in instructions on the page.
Can't wait to see folks!
