Monthly Video Meetup

The year started strong with speakers that volunteered months in advance, then nailed the presentations. Our collective luck (we're in this boat together, everyone) hit a bit of a snag this month between striking out on some tentative speakers and just not having quite enough time to find a backup.

BUT, we're going to keep things going. This month, you just might be the speaker. We're going to do open mic lightning talks, details below in the speakers section.

🗓️ Demuxed Stuff

In case you missed it, there are a few Demuxed things coming up.

NAB Happy Hour at Millennium Fandom. It's the same place we've been doing it for the last few years. Great chance to get off the strip at a place that's just the right amount of quirky.

Demuxed 2023 dates are a lock, we'll be at the same venue the week of October 22nd. We're hoping to get CFPs and sponsor deets opened up next month.

Maybe you?! No really, this is one of the rare chances to get up there and talk with very few rules other than a 5 minute max. Want to talk about your side project? Great. That silly transcoder idea you want to run by people? Cool.

No slides necessary if you don't want to, the pressure couldn't be lower. Just talkin to some video nerd friends over pizza and drinks.

We'll have a few of these talks seeded, so it won't be 100% off the cuff.

Matt McClure (me) will talk about getting weird with media and service workers. Please come tell me why I'm wrong and this won't work.

IRL Logistics
Our host building has security people downstairs, and they require us to have a list of names downstairs for check-in. Just to make sure we can have everyone printed out, please make sure to RSVP by ~5pm on Thursday.

Mux put together a page on details for getting in, COVID protocols, etc. Everyone needs to be fully vaccinated and there are specific check-in instructions on the page.
