SFVR is proud to announce our next event is a Project Tango Hackathon & VR Expo. During the day, Bay Area developers will compete to win free Google Project Tango devices in a fun and fast-paced VR hackathon. In the evening, a massive VR Expo will open to the public. Attendees will get to try the latest virtual reality technology and also judge the hackathon winners. You’ll be able to try Project Tango combined with Durovis DIVE, an exciting new VR hardware platform. SFVR #9’s location will be at Adobe’s headquarters in downtown San Francisco. Google will be providing free catering for the event. Join us for a day of cutting-edge software development and a night of unforgettable VR demos and celebration. See you there!

You're an undersea miner cut off from the surface and any support, and your goal is to survive. You always seem to be low on air inside your suit, which you use to explore a dark, flooded underwater base with only a limited number of flares to use to see.

HACKATHON FORMAT

• Doors open at 9 AM. Breakfast and coffee will be served. Please arrive on time!

• Planning is encouraged. Bring an idea and port it to the Project Tango platform.

• Every team wins free swag.

• Every member of the top 3 winning teams receives a free Project Tango tablet.

• Entries will be judged by the audience according to the following criteria:

• Audience Reaction

• Bonus Points: Uploading app to the Play Store

• There will be frequent check-ins from Project Tango team members and community members during the hackathon

• Food and drink will be served to each team

FAQ

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

This is a 21+ event.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Public transit is highly recommended! We’re one block from 4th and King Caltrain. Or, we’re a 15 minute walk from Civic Center BART. Multiple bus lines will take you here. There is also Bay Area Bike Share station right in front of the office. Very limited bicycle and car parking will be provided by Adobe on a first-come-first-serve basis. Otherwise, there is nearby street parking.

Are there any event restrictions?

You’ll need to sign a standard Adobe NDA (non-disclosure agreement) to enter their office. Also, it is Adobe’s policy to disallow photography in the event space.
