Tuesday strategy games

Details
Welcome to our Tuesday board games night! Please read below for important details.
✹ A word of caution- we play a range of games but mostly what you might call heavy strategy, Euro-style, and/or economic board games, e.g. Agricola, Terra Mystica, Power Grid, etc. If you read boardgamegeek.com you're in the right place. If you've never heard of it, you might be in over your head. Long and complicated rules explanations are common. We also try to bring back old favorites often so we can develop our strategies and get some solid competition going. Sometimes we'll break into social games later in the evening but that's not the main focus of the group. Most games take around 2 hours.
✹ Please try to be here as close to 7:00pm as you can. In order to give everyone the best chance of playing something that suits their preferences, we'll try not to start before 7:10 or so, but it might be hard to find a game if you arrive later than that, as nobody wants to wait around for someone who might not show, and nobody wants to start over a 30 minute rules explanation with someone who stumbled in at 7:30. We have up to 4 tables available.
✹ Please try to update RSVPs especially if you cant make it at the last minute. The wait list is unfortunately necessary so we don't end up with 20 people and no place to sit.
✹ We have literally a ton of games to choose from, you can check out the list here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/joeeoj010?own=1&subtype=boardgame&ff=1
You can bring your own but we probably already have it. Usually someone will just nominate a game and start as soon as there's quorum.
✹ It's important in a game to balance having enough time to make coherent decisions versus annoying the rest of the table by drawing out your turns for eons, so please keep your analysis paralysis in check. You don't need to panic and rush, but if you're always taking significantly longer than the rest of the players to make your decisions, it really ruins the experience for everyone else. Well designed games aren't set up for any human to possibly find the best move all the time. Keeping the game going at a reasonable pace is way more important than playing the game optimally.
✹ We provide the games but the only food and drinks available are those you bring yourselves. Please no liquids on the table and don't eat greasy food while playing!
✹ For those with allergies, we have 2 cats! Their dander is all over the house sorry!
