Dinner Before at a Mano
a Mano opened in May of 2017 to mixed reviews an Italian venture helmed by Executive Chef Freedom Rains (Flour + Water, Incanto and Belga, among other notable SF restaurants) and restaurateur Adriano Paganini (Lolinda, Beretta, Delarosa, Super Duper Burger, Belga, and more).

a Mano means handmade, and in this case "pasta". Michael Bauer, former restaurant critic for the San Francisco Chronicle, rated a Mano three bauer stars, and much better than Delarosa and Beretta. They have several pastas in the twenty dollar range, and a great selection of antipasti for those wanting something a little different, with less flour or carbs. also a list of several pizzas. No substitutions is in the various reader reviews. Their restaurant architecture is easy, wooden and metal chairs encircle a solid wood table top, tile and brightly coloured panels adorn the cosy space inside a modern building whose structure matches most of the Hayes Valley gentrified corridor.

Entrees are about $25, estimated cost of three courses is $50 before tax, tip and San Francisco's Employee Mandate. Drinks can substantially increase this estimate.
