San Francisco is a coastal city that boasts local fishing companies and a rich seafood culture. From clam chowder to fresh Dungeness crab, San Francisco has a wide range of seafood delicacies offered to everyone, even delicacies for the adventurous and locals. With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to choose the perfect seafood restaurant.

Boasting that they have operated from the same location since 1861, the longest such establishment in California, San Francisco Foodies presents yet another seafood selection. In one of the world's seafood capitals. A dedication to craft and history, dine with the ghosts of when California was just becoming a state. Having closed during the Covid-19 pandemic, they reopened in 2022 The Old Clam House boasts a fine selection of fresh seafood, steaks and pasta.
Our adventure in 2025 was amazing, their seafood grill shrimp and Dungeness Crab covered with garlic and butter was tasty, as were their oysters and their homemade pasta was great.
Other than that I have ordered delivery and enjoy their clam chowder and hamburger among other lunch time dishes.

Administrative Trivia
The Old Clam House menu shows three course dinner pricing is about $55-100 per person, excluding tax and tip. Alcoholic drinks can easily increase this average. Dress is smart casual.
Each diner is responsible for their own orders and costs but we will have to consolidate and divvy up the final bill accordingly. Please bring cash or have Zelle or Apple Cash available.
Taxes and Fees
Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%) and probably an employee health mandate (3-10%), a tip (20%) may be automatically added, even on individual bills. I calculate each diner's orders separately unless the meal is shared or family style, and round up.
