Let’s celebrate Fall in A Very SFrancophoney (😉) Way -- Museum Visit/French dinner – Tues, Sept 22, 2026
It’s past Bastille Day but we SFrancophones can still do a very San Francisco Frenchy afternoon.
ATTENDANCE UPDATE: As I heard no more from those I messaged, we have closed this dinner for just FOUR diners (Billy, Dianne, Erik and moi.) We observe the very strict timeframes becuz the restaurant requires it too. (Update - 9/20/26)

  1. Part One -- Just found out about this wonderful, small “Frenchy” museum, Francophone Museum (@ Alliance Francaise) with FREE admission. Bush cor Polk Sts., San Francisco.

    It would be preferred if everyone can go visit the Museum together and thereby have something unique to discuss at dinner. Francophone is open latest on Tuesdays (until 6:00pm) – so maybe 45 mins–1 hour there. Meet there at 4:30pm. Be done by 5:30, then hie on over to BOUCHE restaurant at 603 Bush St.--seven (7) SF blocks away. We can build up an appetite by either walking—slightly downhill- from the Museum to Bouche (15-17 mins); or grab a Lyft/Uber drive to get to Bouche for dinner @ 6;00 PM.

    MENU – Typical French bistro fare. Reserve — Bouche
    Not very complicated. They will accept a combo of both Prix Fixe dinners ($65) and a la carte – so we can mix and match. (I will probably go with the Prix Fixe but I would like to share the Roasted Bone Marrow appetizer (not on the PF)—if shareable, with someone for $28 split by 2.)
    So please study the menu very well so we can get started right away. Of course, alcoholic drinks are entirely each diner’s responsibility.
    Please BE VERY SURE that you want to do and can attend this evening. It would be preferred if we can go visit the Museum together and have something to discuss at dinner.
    CANCELLATION/NO SHOW fee; BOUCHE will charge $25/diner for No-show—thus I will have to ask for a $25 Reservation fee. (Refundable if you notify me of you cancelling 48 hours before--so, by Sun, Sept 20 noon. Flaking out of one’s dinner commitment denies someone else the opportunity to attend the dinner and also cheats the restaurant additional business. They source their food 48 hours before—hence, no shows mean wasted food.)
    I have reserved a table for 5 (so FOUR more diners besides moi.) I have no idea what people will be ordering food-wise, but cost-wise, I am hoping to not exceed $90-100 for my share. I imagine you will be around that figure too--and for newcomers, we then subtract your $25 deposit from your share of the total bill.
    Bouche also charges the SF Employees Mandate Tax of 6%; plus 10.5% SF sales tax and an 18.5% service charge = 35% add-on to whatever the final food/drink tab will be.
    So, the first four Foodies who can advance the $25 Reserv Fee to my Venmo (Myles-Garcia-9) or via Zelle (my mobile no: 510-566-5798) will secure their places for our French Museum & Dinner fetê on 22 September 2026.
