The Changing Status of Women in the U.S.

This Sunday we will discuss two videos on the status of women in the US.

The first video is Women's Rights in the United States. In this Course Hero video, Scot Schraufnagel, chair and professor of political science at Northern Illinois University, walks through the spread of the women's suffrage movement, the ratification of the 19th Amendment, and ongoing efforts to protect women from discrimination on the basis of sex in employment and education.

Course Hero is an American education technology website company based in Redwood City, California, that operates an online learning platform for students to access course-specific study resources and online tutors.

The second video is Why has America never had a female president? This Sky News clip focuses on the absence of women in the highest political office in the US, women’s influence on the presidency, and the recent campaign of Kamala Harris.

Sky News is a British free-to-air television news channel, live stream news network, and news organization. Sky News is distributed via an English-language radio news service, and through online channels., It is owned by Sky Group, a division of comcast. It was named the Royal Television Society News Channel of the Year in 2024.
