From Code to Cloud: Turbocharging Your Spring Boot App for AWS

This presentation explores efficient development and testing of Spring Boot apps by running them locally instead of on AWS, saving time and reducing costs. Using LocalStack, you can replicate the full production environment, including infrastructure provisioned with Terraform or OpenTofu, all in a container on your machine. The app lifecycle is covered from development to automated testing and CI validation, leveraging Spring's profile system for seamless environment switching. This approach ensures consistency and reliability across environments while keeping only production on AWS. We'll discuss the whole lifecycle of an application, from the beginning of development to pre-production CI checks.
