TechCrunch Disrupt finalist Weotta uses MongoDB

Weotta does for places & events what Pandora does for artists & songs. MongoDB has enabled Weotta to create a flexible, fast, and simple back-end for the complicated processes they have to do every day. They are in the midst of building smart local data api's for developers to build the next generation of local products, all based on their MongoDB datastore. To showcase the capabilities of Weotta at TechCrunch Disrupt they created the Weotta itinerary generator. You tell it what you have in mind and it algorithmically generates relevant itineraries in real-time tailored to you and your occasion. Weotta was founded by Grant Wernick and Jacob Perkins, who will be speaking about what MongoDB has enabled them to create.

Aggregation Framework Preview

Chris Westin, 10gen

In the upcoming 2.2 release of MongoDB, 10gen is expecting to include the new aggregation framework. Chris, the architect of the aggregation framework, will give a brief talk on how this new features parallels SQL group-by functionality, without having you write custom JavaScript.
