Learn the latest in analytics queries, biometrics for cyber security & PySpark

Details
On Nov 18, socialize with 100+ Pythonistas and learn more about data analytics, applying behavioral biometrics to cyber security, and PySpark.
To help re-experience the synchronicities and networking that typically happen at in-person events, we'll be using remo.co, NOT Zoom!
👉 Please register using this link: https://live.remo.co/e/sf-python-nov
When you enter the event, you'll see tables with conversation themes: chat with a speaker, water cooler, let's talk about graph database, etc. Simply turn on your mic and video, double click to join a table, and you'll meet folks with the same interests. You can also search the list of participants and DM them to your table for a reunion.
AGENDA
6:30p Get up to speed on remo.co, network and reconnect with friends!

🔎 Short talk (~10 mins + Q&A)
#1 Empowering your Analytic Engineering with dbt!
dbt, Data Build Tool, is an open-source Python package developed by Fishtown Analytics, that applies the principles of software engineering to analytics queries.
In this talk, Raul Maldonado will go over how to use the Python package and features to construct Data Models for Analytics Engineering.
Raul is a Data Analyst @ Autodesk & Volunteer Teaching Fellow @Delta Analytics. He works to empower businesses and people with data & analytics. You can find his work at RaulingAverage.dev, and also running..near the beach.
#2 You are unique, and we can tell by your gait
In a world where everyone is using masks and gloves, the traditional biometrics such as face and fingerprint recognition do not work as well as they used to. Enter the world of behavioral biometrics: each one of us behaves in a unique way and hence our behavior can be used as a way to identify or authenticate an individual. One of our unique behaviors is how we move, and within it how we walk, our Gait. On this talk John Whaley will share insights about the science of motion and how that can be applied in cybersecurity use cases.
John Whaley is Founder and CEO of UnifyID. He was previously Founder and CTO of Moka5, and was a Visiting Lecturer in Computer Science at Stanford. He is an expert in computer security and has spoken at numerous RSA Conference. He holds a Phd in CS from Stanford University and is the winner of numerous awards including the Arthur L. Samuel Thesis Award for Best Thesis at Stanford. John was named one of the top 15 programmers in the USA Computing Olympiad. He also holds BS and MS in CS from MIT
🔎 Main talk (25 mins + Q&A )
PySpark : Combining Machine Learning & Big Data by Avon Roy
This talk would revolve around
-
Why do we need to fuse Big Data with Machine Learning?
-
How Spark’s architecture will help us boost our preparations for faster ML?
-
How pyspark’s MLlib ( Machine Learning library) helps you do ML so seamlessly ?
Ayon has a distinct passion for problem solving using Data Science, ML, AI & loves to wear the cap of a tech speaker passionately. He has delivered talks at places like International Center for Genetic Engineering & Bio-Technology, mentored 15+ hackathons, open source initiatives etc. He is also the organizer of India's First Kaggle Days Meetup in Delhi NCR and loves to review technical books too.
