NDP Fireworks Walk @ Kallang Basin — Preview Night

NDP 2026 is back at the National Stadium for the first time in 10 years — which means the fireworks now launch over Kallang Basin, not Marina Bay. 1 Aug is Preview 2, the final show before National Day, so expect near-full intensity.

We’re walking the waterfront in for golden hour, then watching from Tanjong Rhu — across the basin, with the stadium and city skyline behind the fireworks. Better view, fewer people, and a much easier walk out than the crowds jammed onto Stadium Riverside Walk.

THE ROUTE — approx 4km total, flat and fully paved. Easy pace, suitable for all fitness levels.

🕔 5:00 PM — Meet at Kallang MRT, Exit A
🚶 5:15 PM — Into Kallang Riverside Park & Bugis Meadow
🌇 6:00 PM — Along the basin, golden hour on the water
📸 6:30 PM — Stadium Riverside Walk, “Go Beyond” light-up display
🌉 6:45 PM — Cross Tanjong Rhu Suspension Bridge, settle in
🎆 7:30 PM — Fireworks begin (bursts through the evening)
✨ 8:10–8:30 PM — Grand finale
🛍️ 9:10 PM — Walk east to Decathlon Kallang (open till midnight)
🍟 9:45 PM — McDonald’s Kallang, 24hrs & halal — supper and catch-up

WHAT TO BRING
• Water (at least 1L)
• Picnic mat — we’ll be sitting a while
• Mosquito repellent (waterfront at dusk, they’re real)
• Light poncho or umbrella
• Power bank
• Snacks — we don’t eat until 9:45pm, so please have an early dinner or bring food
• Comfortable walking shoes

PLEASE NOTE
🚇 Take the MRT. Roads around the stadium close from 5pm to 11pm — Stadium Drive, Nicoll Highway, Guillemard Rd, Mountbatten Rd and more. Bus services 10, 11, 14, 16, 70/70M and 196 will skip stops in the area. Do not drive.

⏰ Fireworks timings are not officially published and have run late before. We’ll wait it out — plan for a 10pm finish.

🚪 Leaving early is fine — Tanjong Rhu MRT (TE23) is right at our viewing spot. Just let the lead know.
