Using Simple Storage Service (S3)
• What we'll do Join us to find out why S3 (Simple Storage Service) is one of AWS most popular services! This service is used by almost every AWS customer because the storage is so reliable and inexpensive. S3 is perfect for storing your static website assets, application data files, backups, and more. We will begin with an introduction to S3, discuss pricing and metrics, compare storage types (e.g. Standard vs Infrequent Access vs Glacier), deep dive into storage options (e.g. Versioning, Encryption, Meta-Data, Lifecycle Rules), discuss how to organize your buckets and objects, and provide developer tips and tricks (e.g. file compression, file verification, etc). We will also demonstrate how to configure an inexpensive CDN for your S3 files using CloudFront with free SSL. There is no charge to attend. We will provide an optional lunch buffet. Arrive anytime after 11:30am to network with other AWS users, or stay afterwards for Q&A. Unable to attend? Tune into our live stream on YouTube, or watch the HD recording afterwards. https://bit.ly/sgf-aws-youtube • What to bring Laptop, AWS Console Credentials • Important to know Lunch buffet available.
