About us
Shadow Hands: The Silhouette Story Circle is a gathering for people interested in shadow puppetry—whether you're completely new to it or you've been playing with shadows for years. We meet regularly to learn techniques, share stories, and just have fun creating and performing shadow theater together. No experience necessary. If you've ever been curious about how to make your hands and objects tell a story with just light and shadow, this is the place to explore that.
We keep things relaxed and informal. Each meetup includes time for learning basic techniques, experimenting with different materials and light sources, and sharing what we create with the group. It's as much about the creative process and the community as it is about the final performance. We're interested in all styles—traditional shadow puppetry, contemporary storytelling, abstract imagery, whatever calls to you.
Come as you are, bring your imagination, and be ready to play. We provide some basic materials, but you're welcome to experiment with your own props, music, and ideas too. If you've ever wanted to try something artistic that's a little different, or you just want to spend an evening making shadows dance on a wall with other creative folks, we'd love to have you join us.
