What we’re about

Hi, and thanks for your interest in our group.

We are on hiatus for the summer, with the tentative goal of resuming in August with Measure for Measure. In the interim, please feel free to join up or contact Glenn with any questions.

William Shakespeare died over 400 years ago. He remains, however, a staple of high school and college curricula, and is the most frequently produced English-language playwright in the world. So, why do we still care?

This Meetup is designed for actors, scholars, readers, talkers, thinkers, young lovers, villains, clowns, and lifelong learners. Maybe you’re already a fan of the Bard. Maybe you’re just curious as to why people keep fussing over this old, dead dude. Either way, join us for a series of fun, low-pressure discussions designed to highlight the beauty, the humor, the weirdness, and the visceral humanity that permeate the 38 (give or take) surviving plays that Shakespeare wrote or co-wrote. Details on the first actual meetup coming soon.
