Welcome to our Shamanism & Curanderismo Los Angeles Area Group. You don't need to know anything; you just need to have an open heart to enjoy and learn from this group. We share our spiritual knowledge. What we find interesting, what works for us, what doesn't work for us, our mistakes and how can we apply all this spiritual knowledge to everyday life.
In a few words, this group is about improving the quality of your life with spiritual techniques, natural recipes, and outdoor activities. Please take the time to read this page and learn what to expect from us.
This group is about the “Spiritual Path”. Which spiritual path? “ANY”….. because SPIRITUALITY IS YOUR OWN PATH. Each person follows their own spiritual path. Spirituality is not a religion, IT IS WHAT YOU CARRY INSIDE YOUR SOUL.
So from the information and activities that we share in this group, please take what your heart feels is good for you. Follow your intuition and live life in a powerful, happy, loving, and peaceful position.
We call ourselves “practitioners”. Why? Because we practice what we learn. Who is a practitioner? Anybody who does energy and spiritual work to help herself or himself, family, friends, our community, and Mother Earth. As practitioners, our goal is to find harmony and peace in our lives. We accomplish this by living a life that integrates everything that we know regarding body, mind, and spirit for achieving a "whole" life (complete). We have a holistic approach because we use only natural ways and a "whole-listic" approach because we apply all this to all our aspects of our life. Like family and work life. One of the most important parts that helps bring harmony to create that "whole" or "complete" life is being in Nature or Mother Earth as we call her. You will find in our group many activities that introduce members into Mother Earth like hiking, camping, and kayaking.

We have different activities from different spiritual paths. Curanderismo or Mexican Shamanism is the spiritual path less known and also the most misunderstood. You will find in this group many different types of classes like herbology, meditation, Curanderismo, Shamanism, etc.
THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT CURANDERISMO
• It is not a religion. It is a way of living life. It is compatible with any religion, as it helps to develop a higher spirituality and therefore a better experience with your own religious path.
• Curanderismo is a general term to describe the ancient traditions of the Americas. Curanderismo has branched into different paths because of the size of our continent. The foundation is the same, but the way the ceremonies are performed may vary. There is no type of Curanderismo better than another. The best is the one that works for you.
• It’s not black magic, nor the dark arts. The foundation of Curanderismo is love and respect for everything and everyone.
• The practice of this kind of Curanderismo does not support the use of hallucinogenic drugs or plants. There are many branches or paths in Shamanism and Curanderismo. The Curanderismo that we practice is natural; it is not induced by any preparation. You will learn a series of exercises to reach other realities without the need for chemicals that may harm your body.
• And of course, like anything else, it can be a double-edged sword. With these lessons, you can do good or harm. That’s on you, but as a recommendation think before doing anything. Think if it is for the benefit of the universe and never do anything if your mental state is not at peace.

WHERE ARE THE MEETINGS HAPPENING? We are planning to have the meetings in different places in Los Angeles Area and when possible in Nature. We are having spiritual hikes and camping trips. We host a one-week camping retreat-workshops in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California once a year and some retreats in California, Arizona, Hawaii, Mexico and Costa Rica. For 2017 our main Retreat is going to be in Costa Rica. Some events are free, some are a voluntary donation but workshops and private consultations are paid because we pay for instructor, materials, and venue.
Group guidelines:
All these may sound harsh but I think it is necessary before the group starts growing:
•This is not a dating group. If you harass or stalk somebody you will be banned from the group. Because our spiritual community is not so big if you had in the past harassed somebody that we know you will be banned right away.
•If you send inappropriate emails to people you haven't met yet you will be banned from the group
•If you don’t respect other member’s spiritual beliefs you will be banned too. There is no better spirituality than another. It is what works for you. Please read lesson #1 below.
•If you bring drama to the group you will be banned too
•If you demonstrate anti-social, inappropriate behavior on the website or on an event guess what?...you will be banned from the group
•This is not a spiritual counseling group either. If you want a private consultation or a healing ceremony send me an email to hola@palomacervantes.com
•If you are interested in an event we suggest you read it in the computer because the phone app doesn't show everything. Also read again the introduction or “
about” page to know exactly what to expect.
•If you reserve for an event and you don’t show up and don’t let us know on time you will have 3 chances. After the 3rd time if you reserve you will be added to a waiting list. One day before the event after we close reservations we will let you know if there is a spot available for you. As a spiritual group I think we need to show respect for the organizers that put their time and effort to organize the events and to the members in the waiting list that wish to come to the events.
