About us

Guided heritage walks and short breaks on the Isle of Wight, led by landscape archaeologist Kelly Wetherick and hosted by The Fig Tree Hotel in Shanklin. Chalk downs, Roman villas, Bronze Age barrows, the Solent and the 1545 loss of the Mary Rose, all within a ferry ride of Southampton and Portsmouth. Most events are two-night residential weekends with everything organised: accommodation, breakfast, guided walks and evening talks. Island day places are available too. Ferry discounts arranged for guests. Arrive as guests, leave as friends.

What is included in the residential place, £400 per person:
Two nights at The Fig Tree, breakfast both mornings, all guided walks with Kelly, evening talks, and a discounted ferry crossing arranged for you. Couples: £600 for two.

Island day place, £195: the walks and talks without the stay, for those already on the Island.
