Ascend to the Beacon Fire Tower the back way

Required Gear: Hiking boots or shoes (we will be hiking up rocky trails), at least 1 liter of water, backpack, food.

Trail info- We will taking the back way so no stairs but also no washed out trail. We will stop for a while at the Casino and hotel area before continuing to the Fire Tower.
If there is interest we can take a short detour to see the weekend houses of the NY elites now in disrepair.

We will take time to eat, drink and appreciate the views at the firetower before heading back down via the traditional route.

Distance: 4 miles round trip
The First 0.8 miles of this hike is hard, and very steep with 1000ft. elevation gain.

We may stop for a bite in Beacon after the hike if there is interest.
