Pub Hunt in the Peak District

Date: Saturday 16th September 10.30am – 5.30pm (approx).

Distance: 11 miles

Difficulty: Moderate

The Pub Hunt is a walk / social where you are in teams and are given a clue to a village and a clue to a pub, as well as an A4 map. The aim of the game is to figure out the clues and get your team to the pub first to score the most points (4 pubs in total). There will be rest stops at each pub. Don’t worry if you’re not a confident navigator, the routes are straight forward and the 4 organisers will guide you as will the other members of your team, so please don’t let this put you off.

There are many other ways to score points. For example each team will be given 5 cards at the start of the walk. At each pub you will get the option to change 1 or 2 cards. The team with the best poker hand at the end of the walk will score points. There are also Games / Quizzes at each pub and things to collect along the way. The winning team will be awarded £60 worth of vouchers.

If you sign up and then can no longer make it, please do cancel as there are only a limited amount of spaces available.

I would like to mention that this walking event does not involve drinking (unless you want it to), as the title may suggest. Feel free to form your own team. Drivers: For anyone driving the walk is starting at Fox House in Longshaw (S11 7TY) at 11.00am. You can park your car here. The walk is linear, but one of the organisers will be able to give you a lift back to Fox House.

Public Transport: For people catching public transport we are meeting at Sheffield Interchange Platform D2 at 10.30am. We will then catch the 10.36am bus to Fox House, which is where the walk is starting. Please don’t be late.
