Walk up Padley gorge

We will meet at Sheffield station to catch the 11.14 train to Grindleford.
Tickets are about £3.50 . Only get a single, we are returning by bus.
You can also get the train at Dore.
Leaving the train we will have a coffee and/or sandwich in the station cafe.
The walk then starts. Its an ascending path all the way to the finish I am afraid. But the fist half mile is fairly steep, after that it levels out a bit
and is a gradual ascent from then on and not too taxing. It is a very rocky path and walking boots or stout shoes, providing good ankle support are required.
After leaving Padley gorge we will cross a busy road and enter the Longshaw estate. After a further 1/2 mile we will reach a cafe (can be busy).
Finally there is another 1/2 mile to the Fox House Hotel.
The bus outside leaves at 16.35.
The walk in total is about 3.5 miles and should take about 2.5 hours .
The walk has had a full reconnaissance and investigated any
doubtful areas.
