When: The first Wednesday of the month, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Where: Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, 225 S Meldrum St · Fort Collins, CO

We are located in Old Town Fort Collins, west of College. Free parking is available. Depending on where you park, you can stay for 2 hours or without a time limit. Handicap parking is available right next to the building. There are wide sidewalks leading to the building and wheelchair accessible ramps on the sidewalks. The entrance of the building is level with the sidewalks.

Inside the space, you can find us in the boardroom. Once you come into the building it is the big room with the double doors between the two hallways. The space is set up with long tables in a circle. There are regular height chairs with soft backs and seats positioned on the outside of the circle at the table. As you go towards the back of the room, you’ll find a window that connects the kitchen to the boardroom. You can get complimentary coffee and tea by moving through the open doorway to the kitchen.

Restrooms can be accessed by continuing to the back, past the kitchen. Once you can’t go back anymore, turn to the left, and bathrooms are on the right. They have doors that push open. There is 1 ADA accessible toilet and 1 non-ADA accessible toilet.

Cost: Free!

About Our Presentation:

Domestic and intimate partner abuse can be defined as a pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner. A common and often overlooked type of abuse is economic or financial, which is present alongside other types of abuse in 98% of abusive relationships.

This session will explore economic abuse so you know when it's happening to you or someone you know so they can reclaim financial power and control. In this talk you'll learn:

  • What are the different forms of financial and economic abuse - What can it look like?
  • Why it's important to recognize and acknowledge financial abuse when it's happening

Join us to learn more about economic abuse so we can empower more women financially.

About Our Presenter:

Cora Lee first dreamt up the concept for Undestructable 16 years ago as she sat in a sewing room while working on her BFA in Apparel Design.

After spending 9 years in the industry, witnessing, experiencing, and fighting racism, sexism, ableism and more, she decided to take a massive leap to follow her true dream of starting a nonprofit. A dream of creating a space where she could bring all her personal and professional lived experiences into one space working with survivors.

Undestructable began as a tiny seed planted in passion for supporting survivors of intimate partner abuse and a dream of sustainability from a post-consumer perspective. What began as a tiny seed has grown and matured into what we now know today.

"There is a systemic belief in our country that all things are disposable. It spans from hard goods to human beings. This needs to change."

Cora Lee believes that we all have unique journeys that translate into
superpowers. Her superpower lies at the intersectionality of abuse, feminism, creativity, design, and desire to create social and environmental change. She challenges others to step into their authentic self by harnessing the power of their journey and using it for good.

As a survivor and leader, she is always working to help people rediscover their value and define their purpose.
