Welcome to the NOVA Hiking Collective!
Love hiking but don't want to go alone? This group is for people in their 20-40s who enjoy getting outside, staying active, and meeting new people from the DMV area.
Most of our hikes will be moderate day hikes in traveling distance from Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland.

We will frequently explore trails at:
Shenandoah National Park
George Washington and Jefferson National Forest
Great Falls Park
Sky Meadows State Park
Harpers Ferry

This group is perfect for you if you enjoy a good workout, rewarding views, and meeting other motivated people!

Weverton Heights Afternoon Hike

Join the NOVA Hiking Collective (20-40s) for a hike at South Mountain State Park! We will be hiking the trail Weverton Heights to Ed Garvey Shelter via Appalachian Trail, an out and back which is 5.9 miles with an elevation gain of 1161ft.
We will meet at the Weverton Cliffs parking lot at 12:30pm and set out. We will be hiking at a moderate pace, stopping when necessary.
Make sure to bring water and some good hiking shoes!
