Compton Peaks Hike

Join us for a hike at Compton Peaks in Shenandoah National Park!
We will be hiking the out and back called Compton Peak via Compton Gap Fire Road and Appalachian Trail. It is 6.5 miles with an elevation gain of 1230ft.

Plan:
- We will meet in the parking lot near the trail head at 11am and set off around 11:15. The parking lot is called Chester Gap Trailhead, so we will not be going in through SNP. The hike is estimated to take anywhere from 3-3.5 hours to complete.
- We will be hiking at a moderate pace, stopping to see any views.
- After feel free to join us at The Apple House. A 20 minute drive from the trail, they have apple doughnuts, food, and random knick knacks.
