Rocky Mountain Trail to Big Run Portal Trail

Join us for a hike at Rocky Mountain Trail to Big Run Portal Trail in Shenandoah National Park! This highly underrated trail is challenging with very rewarding views! The out and back we will be doing is 6.4 miles and 1489ft. Its estimated to take 3.5-4. hours to complete.

Plan:
- We will meet at the trailhead at 10:30am. The parking lot is right off of skyline drive and is technically an overlook area.
- We will set off at 10:40/45, hiking at a moderate pace stopping when necessary.
- We will stop for any good views (there are so many on this hike)!
- Plan to be back to the parking lot around 2-2:30pm.

Important notes:
- This is considered a difficult hike so be prepared! I recommend bringing water, food, and comfortable shoes.
- Its required to have park pass for entry into SNP. As long as one person in your car has a pass you are good to go! If you don't have a pass make sure to bring money to pay at the entrance.
