Bootmakers Zoom Meeting, Oct 26, 2024

Details
This month, The Bootmakers of Toronto will try to solve The Problem of Thor Bridge.
Our first speaker is well known to us from his many appearances in Bootmaker radio plays and improv. It is Jeffrey Rosenthal, author of the best selling non-fiction book, Struck by Lightning: The Curious World of Probabilities and also Knock on Wood: Luck, Chance, and the Meaning of Everything. Jeff is a professor of Statistics at the University of Toronto. He will be lecturing us on Improbable, Impossible, and Murder.
The next speaker will be our very own Garry Marnoch, who will investigate the question many of us have been asking: Was ACD Loony? He will resolve this issue with a non-scholarly survey which attempts to refute “presentism” in our perception of ACD.
And last but not least, Dave Sanders will provide the story wrap-up.
Plus, Karen Gold will present another original song, while Karen Campbell tests our knowledge of the story with another diabolical quiz. George Vanderburgh will generously offer up a new prize for the winner!
