Bootmakers Story Meeting, April 5, 2025

Details
This month, The Bootmakers of Toronto will consider The Adventure of the The Lion's Mane.
Our first guest speaker will be Glen Miranker, one of the world's leading collectors of Sherlock Holmes rare books and manuscripts. Glen has exhibited his collection, lectured, and provided assistance to special-collections departments of libraries including our own Toronto Reference Library, among others. Glen will be showing us some of the ACD/Sherlock Holmes manuscripts from his extensive collection!
Our next speaker will be our own Bruce Aikin, MBt. Bruce is a longtime Bootmaker, former Meyers, historian of the Niagara Region, retired chemist, and one of the writers of Bootmakers Diary. He will be discussing 221A Baker Street.
The story wrap-up will be given by our guest, Jacquelyn Morris, founder of the Scintillion of Scions, and contributor to many Sherlockian anthologies and forums. She claims that Lion's Mane is her favourite canonical story. Hmmm.
Karen Campbell tests our knowledge of marine biology with a quiz, and Karen Gold will provide the musical interlude. George Vanderburgh will generously offer up new prizes for the winners!
