Meet women in the data science field from all over the Bay Area at this free Women in Data Science Conference (http://www.widsconference.org/) Screening! We will be streaming talks from the conference in addition to networking sessions. Great opportunity to meet like-minded women as well as listen to the great lineup of speakers! More details to come.
The Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference aims to inspire and educate data scientists, regardless of gender, and support women in the field. This one-day technical conference provides an opportunity to hear about the latest data science related research in a number of domains, learn how leading-edge companies are leveraging data science for success, and connect with potential mentors, collaborators, and others in the field.

Speakers:
Lisa Qian joined Airbnb three years ago and currently leads a team of data scientists focusing on Search. Prior to joining Airbnb, Lisa completed a PhD in Applied Physics at Stanford University, where she studied low temperature condensed matter physics. Outside of data science, Lisa enjoys traveling, playing the violin, skiing, and road biking.
Julie Hollek is a data scientist on the Analytics team at Twitter. In a past life, she earned her Ph.D in astronomy by exploring the history of the early universe through the study of the oldest observable stars in the Galaxy. She attended Hackbright Academy where she met some amazing women technologists. She is currently an organizer for PyLadies SF and the diversity chair for the SciPy Conference. Follow her at @jkru for the latest on data science, food, and outrage.
Marilyn Craig is currently the Sr Director of Analytics and Datawarehouse for ModCloth. A lifelong lover of all things quantitative, Marilyn brings over 25 years of experience in data platforms, analytics, and data science working with and for some of the most well-known brands in the world, including Logitech, Hewlett-Packard, WalMart, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, Chiquita Fresh Express, and Intuit. Marilyn has been at the forefront and in some cases created the techniques and systems that have become standard in consumer facing industries for global manufacturers, retailers and e-tailers. From creating EDI networks to forecasts based on real-time click-through data she has used data and analytics to enhance some of the most sophisticated organizations in the world. Marilyn received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin as well as an M.B.A. from the Haas school at the University of California at Berkeley.
Ranjani Ramakrishnan is a Data Scientist at Intel, driving solutions to problems at the intersection of semiconductor test, manufacturing, and diagnosis. Prior to this role she was a Data Scientist at Apple, working in the Maps domain. She has a bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Masters degrees in Computer Science and Biological Sciences. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and snowshoeing around the beautiful Pacific NW and is fulfilling a childhood dream of learning to play the violin.
