Central Park - Social Mingling/Silent Walking

Details

Come join me on an adventure to the stunningly beautiful Central Park.

This will be a variation of my usual mode of conducting an event. Following the hallow example of the Great Elvis: " there will be a little less conversation and a little more action". Compared to the commentary heavy events that I have led in the past; this will be comparatively commentary lite.

As human beings, we have a deep need to socialize, to communicate with each other. Another primary need is to commune with our natural environment. My goal in leading this event is to provide a bridge to both of these needs. The route that I have selected will include many specific areas of Central Park of such stunning scenic beauty (in every season of the year) that will inspire all who attend.

While exploring and enjoying Central Park, I want the attendees to mingle, the conversation to flow. These bouts of free-range socialization will alternate with segments of Silent Walking/Meditation.
The quiet, contemplative nature of the Silent Walking experience will focus the feelings and thoughts of those taking part in this event. I was introduced to this concept by Brigitte Stark-Merklein during a Silent Walking event that she led in Central Park.

The walk will end at the new Davis Center at the Harlem Meer (106-51 East Drive).

Will be walking at a moderate (not slow) pace. The walk will last three and a half hours and will cover about 5 miles. There will be ample restrooms stops and a twenty-minute snack break
Heavy rain/snow or other forms of extreme weather will cancel the walk. Please check this site for updates.

Please direct all questions concerning the walk to my email address above, I will endeavor to answer all of them. There is no need to clutter up the comment section below with personal reflections or predictions of the weather conditions that you "foresee" on the day of the event. I will delete all unnecessary comments.

I will use a voice amplification device to foster better understanding and clarity between myself and attendees.
