Sunday in the Park + Jazz Concert + Beach Bar 🌇 🎷 ~8 miles

Summer is here so let's enjoy it with a waterfront stroll, some cool jazz under the setting sun and a nightcap under the stars at Jersey City's famous beach bar, Surf City.

We'll assemble at the Paulus Hook Ferry Terminal (a 5 minute walk along the waterfront from the Exchange Place Path Station - turn left as you exit from the escalators) to use their very nice restrooms and begin our walk along the Morris Canal into the northeast section of the park.

Boarded by water on 3 sides, Liberty State Park is a beautiful oasis facing downtown Manhattan with the closest views of Ellis Island & the Statue of Liberty by land. It includes a nature preserve, a 2 mile walking path along Upper New York Bay and the Empty Sky Memorial to 9/11.

We'll circle the park via one route, returning the other, ending at North Cove Field for a concert on the lawn by VALARIE ADAMS & THE DIMENSION BAND which runs 6-8pm.

Meet Up Location & Walk Details

• We'll meet at the NY Waterways Ferry terminal in Paulus Hook to use their nice restrooms. We will begin at 4:15 pm SHARP so check Path/ Ferry schedules to make sure you are on time. Here are Path routes & times: and also NY Waterways times.
• There is also parking in the park for those who would prefer to drive. DM me if you choose that option so I can tell you where to meet us.
• Bring sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, water & snacks as well as a towel or blanket to sit on for the concert (there are no chairs). There MAY be food trucks OR you can bring your own picnic.
• Pace will be easy to moderate with 2 restroom stops within the park, though no official break.
• NO dropouts once IN the park, though there are 2 Light Rail stations (Liberty State Park & Jersey Avenue) near the entrance/ exit points that can bring you back to Exchange Place.
• If you are a NEW MEMBER and find yourself on the Wait List, DM me and I will make space for you.
