An Evening Along the Palisades

Details
10 miles brisk pace, stunning views of Manhattan, no dropout points, several steep hills.
Meet:
We’ll meet on the upper level of the George Washington Bridge Bus Station, near the restrooms. Please be ready to start the walk at 3 p.m. Subway station: 175 St/ GWB Bus Terminal - A train.
Walk:
We’ll cross the GWB, head south to pick up the Shore Trail, then walk north along the Hudson, up to the Englewood Boat Basin/picnic area. We’ll head back the way we came and cross the GWB with a great view of the evening lights over the city.
The walk is a just about 10 miles with no dropout points. Our pace will be brisk and we'll take just short breaks.
There are sections of rocky and uneven terrain and steep stairs and hills, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear. Bring water and snacks (we’ll take a short break to admire the view). Insect repellent is also a good idea. There are ticks in the Palisades - we'll be on roads and trails but it's wise to take precautions. There are restrooms at the bus station and a couple along the trail.
Rain cancels.
Please only sign up if you plan to join us and please don’t drop out within 12 hours of the walk so we can move people from the waiting list to the walk with enough time for them to prepare.
