About the walk
Join us for a relaxed Sunday stroll through the newly reopened Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park in Battery Park City. This isn’t a typical Shorewalkers hike—it’s a casual exploration of the redesigned park and nearby Hudson River shoreline.
Walk Details
- We’ll gather at 1:00 p.m. and begin walking by 1:15 p.m.
- Our route takes us through Battery Park (partially closed due to the Battery Coastal Resiliency Project) and north to Wagner Park.
- Wagner Park recently reopened after a two-year closure and a nearly $300 million redesign.
- We’ll pause for lunch in the park, then continue north to visit The Bean Sculpture on Leonard Street—New York’s own version of Chicago’s iconic Bean.
- The walk ends at the sculpture, near the Franklin Street (1 train) and Chambers Street (1/2/3 trains) stations.
