Pelham Bay Park-Northern Trails

Details
Join us as we hike along the trails bordering The Lagoon and Hutchinson River within Pelham Bay Park, located in the northernmost section of the park in the Bronx. The planned route incorporates the Siwanoy Trail, sections of the Mosholu-Pelham Greenway, and the grounds of the Bartow-Pell Mansion.
Participants are encouraged to bring lunch or snacks, sufficient beverages, bug spray, and to wear long trousers, long sleeve shirt for comfort and safety. Restroom facilities are available across from the Bartow-Pell Mansion. Our trails will also include rugged and minimally maintained stretches, which provide scenic rewards such as expansive shoreline vistas and forested areas. The terrain remains level throughout, with no hills.
Please plan to meet at 9:45 AM. Take the IRT number 6 train to its final stop at Pelham Bay Park, Bronx. Upon exiting the station, enter the park and proceed to the restrooms located in the stone building, near the picnic tables, where attendance will be taken. The hike will commence shortly after 10:00 AM. The estimated duration is approximately 3 hours, covering 6 miles. Please note that the event will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
For return transportation for those leaving early, bus service (Number 45 to Pelham Bay, Bronx) is available hourly back to the train station.
