Vinegar Hill, Dumbo and Brooklyn Heights

Details
This will be a guided tour (with much commentary) which will encompass one of the least known, one of the most upcoming and the most historic of Brooklyn neighborhoods.
Beginning at the Brooklyn War Memorial in Cadman Plaza Park, we will make our way into the charming Vinegar Hill neighborhood to view such hidden treasures as a Tibetan Temple on the site of a former gas station. Then we will enter the trendy Dumbo area and explore the many waterfront parks along the East River. We will cross the "non swaying Bridge" to access the Promenade. After a brief detour into the oldest section of Brooklyn Heights, we will take in the breath-taking views of the Promenade. The walk will end outside the Brooklyn Historical Society.
Owning to the Group Guided Tour nature of this event, it will be restricted 25 attendees.
The closest Subway Station near the end point is the Court Street Station.
Will be walking at a moderate (not slow) pace. The walk will last close to four hours and will cover about 5 miles. There will be ample restrooms stops but no lunch break.
Heavy rain/snow or other forms of extreme weather will cancel the walk. Please check this site for updates.
