+/• 20K loop along the River Lesse (near Houyet and Dinant)

On my birthday, on Saturday, I would like to invite friends, past and future (it’s an open event!), to a hike along the river Lesse.
Passing through forests, fields and sights of castles, I hope we can dip a bit to refresh in the water of the Lesse, and that you join me for a beer in a cafe along its bank during the hike, and at the end. I reccommend people to being their SWIMMING SUIT.

Approx 20 or 21K, 390m elevation gain

The hike starts and ends at a restaurant, where some of us will be dining. I welcome others to join us at the restaurant: let me know if you wish to join, but it may be better to make differet bookings to avoid large tables.

There seems to be public transport, but it takes twice as much than by car. Carpooling usually works very well. Post your requests/offers here in comments and on the Whatsapp group.
(Passengers, consider that drivers will only post it when they are 100% sure, so don't give up... keep checking who is offering lifts and contact them, and ask again just before the hike if you haven't found any offer just before the hike.)

• Speed

Around 4.7 Km/h on average while walking.

• Food

Bring your lunch and at least 1.5 L of water. We will have a pic-nic on the way.
End of the hike should be at about 17:30.

• Various and possible

Come with good walking shoes. Have your GSM battery fully charged, better if you have an extra fully charged battery pack with you.
Check, but currently weather seems to be less warm than in the past days. Clouds and sun, approx 25-27 degree.

• WhatsApp "share live location"

When participating in our hikes, you should understand how to use the WhatsApp function "share live location". It’s very handy in case you remain behind, arrive late or get lost.

• MeetUp privacy settings

Turn off the privacy settings in MeetUp. Not doing so, you will prevent the organizers from contacting you by direct message.

• A reminder on the event etiquette (and on good manners in general)

Register only if you are reasonably motivated to participate. As a matter of courtesy towards the people on the waiting list, if you are unable to come, cancel as soon as possible.
