The hike: loop from Namur
We will start the hike at the main station of Namur. After a short walk through the centre, we will see the Citadel and walk along Namur's river, until we get to the forest west of Namur. There will be some good climbs and hopefulluy good views!
Date: Sunday, 11 Oct 2026
Meeting point: Namur Train Station.
On the platform where the 11.13 train from Brussels arrives (not sure if there are more entrances, so better to meet there - but if for some reason you can't find us, we will check at the entrance, and call me).
Meeting time: 11:15 (we will wait for the train arriving at 11:13 - I will probably come by train, from Gare Luxemburg)
Finish: approximately at 17:00, then for those who want we can take a short stroll in Namur and have dinner there.
Distance: 20.2km
Elevation gain: 530m (a relatively high elevation, with a few steep uphills)
Walking time: approx 5h
Pace: max 5km/h - but slower uphill
Terrain: Starting urban, then forest.
Meals: We will have a short pic-nic break at about 1:30/45 (as we start late, we won't stop too early, so have a good breakfast!) . Bring your own food.
After the walk, we will most likely go for dinner in Namur - those who want!
