- Aber Falls Hike, North WalesAber Falls Car Park, Llanfairfechan
Join us on Friday 8th August 2025 for a day exploring one of North Wales’ most beautiful waterfalls—Rhaeadr Fawr (‘Big Waterfall’)—better known as Aber Falls.
We’ll follow a stunning circular route through the scenic Aber Valley, taking in ancient history, spectacular waterfalls, and sweeping views over to Anglesey. Our route starts from the Upper Aber Falls car park, crossing a stream and winding gently through the valley. Along the way, we’ll pass the Aber Valley Hut Circle—an Iron Age settlement built around a Bronze Age standing stone—before reaching the dramatic 36m waterfall.
After a good waterfall gaze (and probably a few photos!), we’ll venture on to a hidden gem: Rhaeadr Fach (‘Little Waterfall’)—a lesser-known spot just off the main path. From there, we’ll climb steeply up the side of Ffridd Ddu, where panoramic views over the Menai Strait and Anglesey await. The descent back towards the village is steep in places, so care is needed—but the scenery is more than worth it!## Why Join?

Ready to take on Wales’ highest mountain? Join us for an unforgettable hike to the summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) via the Llanberis Path—a route known for its steady climb, stunning views, and classic mountain vibes.
We’ll be tackling a total of 16 km (10 miles) with 940m of ascent, so bring your energy and your snacks—it’s a full day adventure with big rewards.### 🏔️ About the Route
The Llanberis Path is considered the most straightforward way to reach the summit of Snowdon—but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a walk in the park. It’s still a mountain, and there’s plenty of steep, leg-burning sections to keep things spicy.
The terrain is wide and clear underfoot, making it suitable for anyone with a good base level of fitness and a sense of determination (and maybe a bit of a sense of humour for those final few hundred metres). You’ll be sharing the trail with lots of fellow adventurers—it’s a popular one—but the camaraderie and summit vibes are second to none.
We’ll take regular breaks, keep a friendly and steady pace, and make sure everyone feels supported from bottom to top (and back down again!).### Highlights:
- ✅ Summit Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) – Tick off the highest peak in Wales at 1,085m
- ✅ Panoramic Views – On a clear day, see as far as Ireland, Anglesey, and across the Snowdonia range
- ✅ A classic route – The Llanberis Path is iconic for a reason: it’s the easiest to navigate but still a proper mountain challenge
- ✅ Supportive group atmosphere – You’ll never walk alone (unless you sneak off to wee behind a rock)
