We are fortunate to have Lori Saunders willing to lead yet another outdoor workshop on light painting. The tentative location will be our usual Burke one (Lake Braddock Park--on the soccer fields by the aluminum stands). I say "tentative" because I'm exploring an alternative location close by (by a VRE station) that may suit our needs. So if I change locations I'll announce it on the site.

There is limited space for this workshop so don't sign up on a whim and then no-show or cancel the last day.

Lots of limitations. You'll need a tripod. I usually shoot with a wide angle lens or a 28-85mm zoom. You'll need to know how to shoot on "bulb" mode with your camera (because you'll be doing 20-70 second exposures). Having a wireless trigger or a remote trigger is good. There will be lots of flashing lights so if that is a problem for you, don't sign up. Since this will be a night in mid-June, there will be bugs and probably very humid. Bring some water and I'll bring some homemade cookies or brownies.

If you have light painting tools or toys you want to play with, bring 'em. There is no street address for the park. It is on Lake Braddock Drive between Olley Lane and Wallingford Drive. It's just a couple of blocks from Lake Braddock Secondary School (if you need a fixed location to plug in to GPS). Just park on Lake Braddock Drive. There will be a thick line of trees along side LBD but an asphalt drive from the road through a gap in the trees to the soccer fields (so an ambulance can get through to the soccer field if needed). There is usually a port-a-potty there and a trash can.

Shooting long exposures drains batteries (especially for mirrorless cameras) so bring an extra one.
