About us
Welcome to ShuttleUp Dubai, which we believe is the city's most efficiently organized badminton community.
We built this group because we were tired of the standard Dubai badminton experience of overcrowded courts, unbearable wait times between games, and cheap shuttles that break after two rallies. We run things differently.
The ShuttleUp Difference:
• Strict Court Capacities: We enforce a strict maximum of 6 players per court. You pay to play, not to sit on the bench.
• Premium Shuttles Only: We exclusively use tournament-grade, steamed goose-feather shuttles (no cheap duck feathers or plastics here) to ensure crisp, fast, and highly competitive rallies.
• Balanced Matchmaking: We utilize a proprietary ELO scoring system to ensure you are matched with players of a similar skill level. No more completely lopsided games.
Who Should Join?
Whether you are a solid intermediate looking for consistent weekly games, or a heavy-smashing advanced player wanting high-intensity rallies, you will find your court here. Beginners, please excuse us for now. No hard feelings.
How It Works:
• Fee: AED 45 per 2-hour session.
• Location: We Met Sports, DIP
• Format: Doubles rotation.
• Date and time: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-10 PM
The Vibe & Our Community:
We are more than just a rigid badminton queue. We are a proper community. While our roots started as a strong Sri Lankan group, our courts now feature a completely international roster with regulars from India, Russia, Malaysia, Pakistan, and the Philippines.
We balance high-level competitiveness with an incredibly fun, high-energy atmosphere. Expect great banter, friendly rivalry, occasional fun game variations, and a welcoming crowd that genuinely enjoys hanging out both on and off the court.
