Shut Up & Write!® Des Moines

We will be trying out a space located inside the Indie Author Book Expo, located in Valley West Mall, next to the escalators, across from the Children's Museum. I've spoken with them and they said they will allow us to bring our own food and drinks, so be aware of that.

Join us for an hour of focused writing! Write with other writers with no excuses to get in the way. Come put your fingers into action at the Indie Author Book Expo!

This is a meeting to just write.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, comic, fanfic, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write with us.

We'll do some quick intros, talk about what we are working on and then I'll start a timer, then it's heads down writing with no excuses!

SCHEDULE:

6:30 - Quick introductions

6:45 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour

7:45 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing. It's up to you at this point.

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens before intros and after the writing session. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is welcome.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

ABOUT THE PROCESS:

*Bring whatever you need to be able to write!

*Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block any overhead music or other background noises.

*If you plan to write electronically, bring a charged device as the seating arrangements are bound to change. I'll try to get there early and claim seats.
