Stir It Up Shut Up & Write ZOOM
Enjoy writing in a virtual community! We'll do introductions, then get 60 minutes of writing done—any writing you like.
Write from anywhere. Join a little late. Leave a little early. Just make sure not to disturb during writing time.

• This is a safe, welcoming, and respectful space with a focus on how the elements of creative writing can improve any genre. Not only that, but the characteristics of skilled fiction writers overlap with resilience: objectivity, attention to both detail AND the big picture, the ability to analyze, deconstruct AND design.

Regardless of genre, writing stirs things up. It stirs up memories. It stirs up values. It stirs up assumptions, clichés and stereotypes. It make us question perspective. It gives us a medium to help the world question all these things as well.

Writing is solitary. If you want to write, you need to surround yourself with people who "get" the challenges and have the courage to deal with them on this wild and solitary road. People come and go, but writing friends can last a lifetime. The time between between Shut Up & Write sessions can feel like a lifetime.
