What we’re about
Shut Up & Write! is a global community that empowers writers to overcome procrastination, silence their inner critic, and make consistent progress on their projects. Our events provide a structured and focused environment where writers can come together, set aside distractions, and achieve their writing goals.
What to Expect
Our events use our proven formula: a few minutes of introductions, a period of focused writing, and a final check-in to share our progress. Once you arrive, our host will lead introductions, and then everyone will write for a quiet, focused period of time. Afterward, we’ll have an optional time to chat and get to know each other. Our events are a safe space for writers to work on their craft. No one will read or critique your writing.

ABOUT THE EVENT
Join us for an hour of writing from the comfort of your own home. We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with others, even if we’re all just hanging out online together. See if it’s true for you at 7 PM PT Fridays / 10 AM AWST on Saturdays! Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. And don’t worry, no one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice.SCHEDULE:
7 PM PT / 10 AM AWST - Quick introductions
7:15 PM PT / 10:15 AM AWST - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
8:15 PM PT / 11:15 AM AWST- The End: chat, take off, or keep writingWHAT DO I NEED? A computer with working camera and microphone, a good internet connection, and optionally, headphones.
