Shut Up & Write!™ Close-in East Side Portland (E Burnside)

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10 AM on Wednesday Mornings at Lolo Pass.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

SCHEDULE:
10:00 – Say hi to everyone.
10:15 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
11:15 - (the end) chat / take off / keep writing.

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11:30 am. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then say hi after the session.

What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.

SEATING INFORMATION: Hopefully, we'll snag the 8-person table in the shop, but there's a ton of space. We can sit in the art gallery, which is quieter than the shop.

There are outlets but if you are bringing an electronic device, try to bring one that's as charged as possible to make life easier for everyone, including yourself.

TRAVEL / PARKING: Lolo Pass is located on East Burnside and SE 16th. There is free street parking if you head away from Burnside. The nearest bus lines is the 20, which runs on E Burnside.

GUIDELINES: Be sure to thank our hosts by purchasing something. They have a full coffee bar with plenty of tea options as well.
