Shut Up & Write!®️ Wherever You Like

If you can/can’t usually make it to Daikanyama early on Thursday mornings, here’s your chance to make Shut Up & Write®️ a productive part of your week, in the presence of other writers.

Whether you're working on a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

LOCATION
The event will take place on Whereby. The link will be visible once you sign up.

You will not need to make an account, nor will you need to download anything in advance in order to join the meeting from any internet browser.

SCHEDULE

The event will follow a similar flow as the physical event. Log in with your favourite working setup, snacks and beverages.

08:30–08:35　Join the online meeting room; say hi
08:35–08:40　Brief intros; tell us what you're working on
08:40–10:10　Timer starts; write for 90 minutes
10:10~　The end: Tell us how your writing went, chat, leave, or continue writing

Optional socializing happens at the beginning and end of the session. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.

Being late is okay. Just show up and ping the chat – then check in with me after the session. (I’ll be the meeting host) If you were on time, please welcome our friendly latecomer.

I might play some light instrumental music in the background. Feel free to mute this and play your own while your mic is muted.
