Shut Up & Write! is a global community that empowers writers to overcome procrastination, silence their inner critic, and make consistent progress on their projects. Our events provide a structured and focused environment where writers can come together, set aside distractions, and achieve their writing goals.
What to Expect
Our events use our proven formula: a few minutes of introductions, a period of focused writing, and a final check-in to share our progress. Once you arrive, our host will lead introductions, and then everyone will write for a quiet, focused period of time. Afterward, we’ll have an optional time to chat and get to know each other. Our events are a safe space for writers to work on their craft. No one will read or critique your writing.

Just Juice, 4309 W 27th Pl Suite 101 C, Kennewick, WA 99338, Kennewick, WA, USJoin us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 6:15pm on Wednesday evenings at Just Juice in Kennewick, WA.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem, code or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
6:15pm - Quick introductions
6:30pm - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
7:30pm - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 7:30. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with us after the session.
If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block any noise in the cafe.
There are a few available plugs as well as tables for writing.
Other Important Details:
Just Juice has free WiFi.
TRAVEL / PARKING: The parking lot is a little small, but there are bigger lots in neighboring businesses we can access.
SEATING INFORMATION: There are scattered tables and chairs about the coffee shop. We can try to congregate in one area but may need to be flexible.
GUIDELINES: Great idea to thank our hosts by ordering something--their coffee is divine. They also have great smoothies!
