Shut Up & Write!™ Petaluma

Join us for an hour of writing in Penngrove! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 9:15 AM every Tuesday morning at JAVAMORE CAFE. I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, short story, dissertation, melody, poem or (fill in the blank), you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

RSVP and please arrive 10–15 minutes early to order food/drink and get settled.

SCHEDULE:
9:15 - quick intros.
9:30 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
10:30 - timer ends: chat.
10:45 - take off or keep writing.

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens after 10:30 AM. Writing is very solitary. Connecting, supporting, and sometimes even commiserating with other writers is a good thing.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up, order a coffee or a treat, and join us. Then check in with me after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for any latecomer(s).

LOCATION / PARKING / HOURS: Located in The Grove, at the corner of Old Redwood Highway and Main St. Address is 10101 Main Street, Ste. A.

Other Important Details:
-Please thank the cafe for hosting us by purchasing food or drinks.
-Pre-charge your laptop, or bring a notebook and favorite pen.
-The cafe has free Wi-Fi (albeit slow); ask for the code.
-There is no music playing here; bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block out others' conversations.
